Terms of Service

Last updated: 26 May 2026

1. Acceptance of terms

By accessing or using The Guest Log (the "Service"), whether as an event organiser or a guest, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

These Terms are governed by the laws of Singapore. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Singapore.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to purchase a plan or create an organiser account. Guests must be at least 13 years old to use the upload feature. By using the Service you confirm you meet these requirements.

3. Organiser accounts

Organisers register an account on The Guest Log platform, either by starting a free trial or completing a plan purchase. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account.

You agree to provide accurate information and to keep your email address up to date. The Guest Log may suspend or terminate accounts that provide false information.

4. Plans and trials

Free trial: New organiser accounts may activate one 7-day free trial, which grants access to all features for a single event with a maximum of 10 guests. The trial is limited to one per account and may not be transferred or extended. No payment is required to start a trial.

Paid plans: Each paid plan entitles you to create the number of events specified in your plan. Events are associated with a unique QR code generated by The Guest Log. You may reproduce and distribute the QR code solely for the purpose of allowing guests to access your event gallery.

You are responsible for ensuring the QR code is only shared with your intended guests. Do not publish event QR codes publicly online unless you intend for anyone to access the gallery.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to upload, share, or encourage guests to share content that:

  • Is illegal, defamatory, obscene, or harmful
  • Infringes the intellectual property rights of any third party
  • Contains nudity or sexually explicit material
  • Depicts or promotes violence, hatred, or discrimination
  • Constitutes harassment or bullying of any individual
  • Contains malware, phishing links, or other malicious code

The Guest Log reserves the right to remove content that violates these rules and to terminate accounts of repeat offenders without refund.

6. Organiser responsibilities for guest data

As an organiser you are responsible for informing your guests that their phone number will be used for OTP verification and that their uploads will be stored by The Guest Log. By creating an event and sharing a QR code, you confirm that you have a lawful basis for guests to share their data in this manner.

7. Content ownership and licence

Guests retain all intellectual property rights in the content they upload. By uploading content, guests grant The Guest Log a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to store, display (within the event gallery), and allow the organiser to download the content, solely for the purposes of providing the Service.

The Guest Log does not claim ownership of any uploaded content and will not use it for advertising or any purpose beyond operating the Service.

8. Payment and refunds

All prices are in Singapore Dollars (SGD) and are inclusive of applicable taxes. Payments are processed securely by Stripe.

Free trial: No payment is required. The trial expires 7 days after your event date and is non-renewable.

One-time plans (Basic, Plus, Premium): Non-refundable once your event has been created and your QR code generated.

Annual plan (Unlimited): Billed annually in advance. You may cancel before the renewal date; access continues until the end of the current annual period. No refunds for partial periods.

If you believe you have been charged in error, contact hello@theguestlog.com within 14 days and we will investigate.

9. Storage, fair use, and data deletion

Media is stored for the retention period associated with your plan (7 days for the free trial; 60, 90, or 365 days for paid plans). After expiry, media is permanently and irreversibly deleted. The Guest Log is not responsible for any loss of data after the retention period ends.

We strongly recommend downloading your media well before the retention period expires. Organisers receive an email reminder before their event storage expires.

Fair use — uploads and storage: Paid plans are described as "unlimited" in respect of normal personal event use. This means we do not impose hard caps for typical weddings and events. However, use of the Service must be reasonable and consistent with its intended purpose. We reserve the right to contact or suspend accounts that exceed fair use — for example, accounts uploading thousands of files unrelated to a stated event, using the platform for commercial media storage, or making automated bulk uploads. If you anticipate unusually high storage requirements, please contact us at hello@theguestlog.com before your event.

10. Service availability

The Guest Log aims for high availability but does not guarantee uninterrupted service. We are not liable for any loss resulting from downtime, data loss, or interruptions to the Service.

11. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by Singapore law, The Guest Log shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of data, loss of profits, or business interruption, arising from your use of or inability to use the Service.

Our total liability to you for any claim arising out of these Terms shall not exceed the amount you paid to The Guest Log in the 12 months preceding the claim.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify organiser account holders of material changes by email at least 14 days before the changes take effect. Continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
